Gym Rules

We have a few simple rules at The Good Gym MK to ensure you and your fellow members have a good experience and our team and gym are kept safe at all times.

MEMBER SAFETY & HYGIENE

  • Whilst there are no Covid restrictions at this time, we do ask that if you are feeling unwell, you are considerate of those around you and consider whether you are fit to be training in an enclosed gym environment.
  • We provide hand sanitiser throughout the gym and encourage you to use this on your hands as you enter and exit our premises and regularly whilst exercising.
  • Wipe down your equipment once you have used it with the antibacterial spray products provided across cleaning stations we have in each gym zone.
  • Do not drink directly from the water dispenser, this is to fill water bottles only. Drain your bottle in the sinks in the bathrooms (or feed one of the plants!)
  • In the toilets and showers, please clean up after yourself, and ensure any rubbish is placed in provided bins in the toilets and facilities.
  • Hot drinks and snacks can be consumed in the coffee area and sofa area but not on the gym floor.
  • Should anything break, please alert a member of the team if they’ve not already seen it – we really appreciate more than people realise!

GENERAL GYM RULES

  • Your membership belongs to you as an individual. Access to the Club is through a QR code system and you will be expected to scan in on every entry for health and safety purposes. If you need help setting this up, speak to the team immediately.
  • When your membership is set up online, you are asked to take a photo for your member area. On your first visit, if we do not have a record of this, we will request a photograph in-Club for member management and health and safety reasons.
  • When you join, you’ll receive a booking link to book an introduction / your first visit to the Club. We recommend you take advantage of this time with the team. We will not accept any liability for any claim for personal injury if you use the gym equipment having not undertaken an introduction from a qualified member of the team.
  • If you are unsure as to how to use any piece of equipment you must seek advice from a qualified member of the team before using such equipment.
  • For safety reasons, bags are not permitted onto the gym floor as they are a trip hazard.
  • We request that appropriate clothing is worn whilst exercising at all times i.e. suitable comfortable exercise clothing and appropriate footwear. Clothing such as jeans, crocs, boots, flip-flops/sandals or work wear are not permitted. Any member not wearing suitable wear may be asked to leave. Topless training is not allowed. Please use the changing rooms provided if you wish to change your top or bottoms.
  • You may not use the club whilst under the influence of alcohol, drugs, tranquillisers or any medication or other substance which may affect your ability to exercise safely. Your Owners and the Team reserve the right to remove you from the premises if they believe you are unfit to use the facilities or believe you are under the influence.
  • Please replace weights and don’t drop them as it is a) a safety hazard b) damages the equipment and c) disturbs other members, failure to adhere to these rules may result in your membership being terminated.
  • Please be respectful of other peoples’ privacy when using personal technology in the club. You must get prior permission from all the people who will appear in any photograph you take or video footage you make whilst in club. Retrospective consent should also be obtained where images are accidentally captured and the image/footage deleted where consent is withheld. If you intend to use an image then you must explain what it will be used for and who might see it and get the persons consent to do so. We reserve the right to terminate a member(s) membership or ask a visitor(s) to leave the premises if personal technology is inappropriately used. We are aware that filming and photography takes place in our Club from time to time so if you do not wish your image to be used in any filming or photography, please inform a member of the team.
  • Please consider others when using your mobile phone and keep calls to a minimum.
  • Only The Good Gym MK self-employed licensed personal trainers are permitted to undertake personal training sessions in the club. Anyone else undertaking members’ training will be asked to leave the gym immediately.
  • Please keep your valuables with you or stored in a locker at all times. If we find anything, we’ll look after it for you. If items are not claimed within 4 weeks, these will be binned as have minimal storage space available for lost items.
  • Although we will always endeavour to return any articles of lost property to the owner, we do not take responsibility for any item held in lost property.
  • The Good Gym MK accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property whilst on the premises.
  • Members are asked to only use the lockers for the duration of their training session. Lockers are emptied each night and members items removed to lost property. Padlocks will be broken to gain access and will not be replaced.
  • Please respect the club, our staff and each other at all times.
  • Appropriate behaviour is required so as not to jeopardise your safety or the safety of others. If in our reasonable opinion, a member’s continued membership is likely to be detrimental to the character and interests of the particular club, we reserve the right to terminate that membership. Any one doing so will have their membership terminated immediately and The Owners and the Team reserves the right to contact the Police if deemed necessary.
  • Members must inform the club of any change of contact and email address or telephone numbers. These changes can be made in the Members area of The Good Gym MK website by the individual or speak with a member of the team.
  • By accessing The Good Gym MK and by using the gym equipment members are deemed to have read and understood the terms and conditions of membership.
  • Please treat the car park as part of the Club, park considerately (paying special attention to disabled spaces) and leave it as you’d expect to find it. We request that you do not speed in and out of the car park for the safety of all age ranges that visit the premises.
  • By agreeing to the Health Commitment Statement, you are agreeing that you are fit and healthy to train and are also responsible for your own health and wellbeing.
  • Smoking, including e- cigarettes are strictly prohibited in all areas of the gym. Any member found to be breach of this rule will have their membership terminated.
  • Members may not bring any pets (other than official aid dogs) into the gym. The Good Gym MK dog will be in Club for those much needed cuddles.

CLASS BOOKING & CLASS ATTENDANCE RULES

  • Members must arrive promptly for class start times, we can’t allow you to join if the class has already started – it’s not fair on your muscles, instructors or the other members.
  • Members are required to book in advance to ensure that a class has space for them.
  • Members can book online from 10 days in advance for Achieve memberships and 14 days for EPIC! memberships.
  • The Good Gym MK operates a 3- strike non-attendance rule to ensure fair use and opportunity. We ask that if you are unable to attend, you cancel 90 minutes ahead of the class start time. 3 no-shows in 14 days will result in all future bookings being cancelled and you will need to rebook.
  • Our classes get full. If a member is unable to attend, they should cancel in advance of the class to avoid receiving a strike. If a class is full a member can book onto a waiting list. Keep an eye out on your bookings to see if you have made it onto the class.
  • Members with extenuating circumstances impacting their ability to attend classes should contact the Club.
